Notes About The Poem

Under the Blood

You’re like the heart who knows In order to keep beating, The blood must continue to flow And the blood comes from the One who grows A more beautiful heart, a more tender fountain Than any other – His blood pours out hope, joy, faith A beautiful that is beyond dreaming about Thanks to the One who gave up His blood There is a hope that is truer than any grief A hope that is wiser than any other promise This is a hope that means life is eternal This hope assures us that God is alive and He is fighting for us – He even died for us Then He came back – Rising again to decide For us – there would be a forever after, A life eternal in heaven, where He is living Until that moment when God decides to come back Calling us into paradise, where we will live forever Praising the One who made a way for us To claim the victory – because of the faith, the grace That made a way for us to say “Jesus Saves” You’re like the heart who knows In order to survive, the blood must flow The blood of a Savior who shows Life on earth is short – The life He provides Is forevermore … eternally together with the Savior!

The important thing is not whether we love God (though of course, we must) but whether He loves us above all.
