Under a Blazing Sun

The glowing ball in the heavens
   sends down its rays
onto the asphalt homeland
   In gardens, in playgrounds
       Youth are ignited by
the warmth
    In a park two young
people embrace
   In the shade
below the trees
Sweet kisses and caresses
      make their hearts pound
Love making out of doors
    No one sees them
As the afternoon begins to
     change to evening
They part ways with
  longing gazes
Tomorrow suns another day

You have painted a perfect Norman Rockwell scene, a small slice of life, with your wonderful words.

HI Matthew, yes, the sun sure can give off a lot of heat, ei? I like what you did here, taking off from the sun's heat and showing how it can also 'ignite' others... hope you don't mind me pointing out the typo in your 7th line for "two" ... enjoyed this poem of yours, thanks for sharing!
