Under the ‘guise of ‘Unavailable’
never able to take that chance,
‘Are you his girlfriend’?
very easy to misread;
always there, his strong side;
Invisible, adoring silence;
Lighting up the room because she’s lit up,
Always because of him;
Barely seen but always felt,
left to her own devices she’d admit it;
Each moment? She remembers;
Energy lent so he feels what she does,
love so strong it fills up the room;
Bystanders and strangers smile and laugh
as they tip that tip jar;
Leaving her to lead the charge,
It’s lost to him;
All of the reasons she’s always there
very easy to deny;
All of times he has unknowingly saved her,
not willing to risk her reason for breathing;
Under the ‘guise of ‘Unavailable’.
