Unattainable

She said to me to not even try As I approached her with desire The first thing noticed was her eyes Leaving my heart burning with fire I had to meet her, had to dare She was elegant and ever so pretty She probably noticed I was set in stare So I then began to act witty I couldn’t do anything to change her mind With me, she would have nothing to do Yet, she was the prettiest that I did find But had contempt and a frozen heart, too So, I walked away and muttered these words To be interested in her is simply absurd
