Ultimatum

Trudging through
a tangled path of ruin,
dragging the weight of
harrowing hopes and
oscillating oaths,
I shout into the empty sky—

give me Love,
or give me Death!

Laura, this is a great take that reminds me of the famous Patrick Henry quote. You've updated it to a personal meaning and you deserve fantastic love as do we all...this could apply to any of us. The passion you've expressed in the first section paints a strong but desperate image. You're making me smile as I can enjoy the poetic power you use. Be well, and know you are appreciated!

In thinking we need to all come to this point, those who cling to this life shall lose it, and those who hate what they see in the world shall seek the face of God, hopefully to be filled with a newfound peace, Joy, love and given understanding and knowledge of what's going on around us, seeking to die daily to oldself that new creation might be formed within unto the likeness of Christ, much love and prayers for you and family always
