Ugly Angels
It’s been some time since I last saw them
peering out from the folds of my pink floral curtains
grinning and grinding their sharpened teeth
I would wake in the night to see them watching
blinking them away never worked
I stared at them as they did me
and oddly enough I was never once scared
for the calmness I felt, perhaps they were watching over me
but have you ever seen such an ugly angel?
