Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Let's not just stop
At our guns and ammunition
I bid you please to sign right here,
Sign this petition!
Let us dispose
Of our fire extinguishers too
Let's leave it the firemen,
They have work to do!
Let us improve the roads sobriety
And stop driving those risky cars!
Let us see how far we can take this,
Let us see just how far!

You've got a good point here in this ironical grook.I don't really involve myself in politics, but life in general is a risk -complete removal of one thing, and you've got several new issues sprouting up, then it becomes a whole mess, and maybe even a waste of time, or a turn for the worst. It's just the kind of world we live in, and no leader but God Himself is perfect. Always, Laura

Politics is a sticky business ... and so many of us have a very unchanging outlook on their own position it seems. Thanks for reading, Laura.

Very good read. Sad to see our rights just being flushed away.

Indeed... history is repeating itself it seems!

I don't advocate taking guns from honest people but logic seems to have gone out the window when it comes to assault weapons. These are not made for protection or hunting, they are designed to kill and they are killing our children. There should be a line drawn that good men are willing to stand on the side of what is right.

Hi Richard. The gun debate has been an extremely touchy subject as of late, so I know not everyone will agree with me (and I don't want to get in any political debate with you). But I will say what my honest opinion is. It's been proven that areas in America with stricter gun laws has significantly higher crime rate. And Obama (like Hitler did in his day) is using children as a ploy for his agenda.

It makes me sick to think about it...

It's like I say - There are too many people in power and they are always voting for the wrong thing. With one good man - we would have stability. Thanks for sharing..... Lucilla

How true Lucilla! It's all about changing out way of thinking... but we're still stuck in this rut of thinking that people in power are always working for us... when usually it's the opposite.

Nice spin on the progressives out there. They'll take as much as they can until they run out of our money...then they'll have to change course.

... sad, but true. I'm positive that if came to down to a national vote the majority would vote for keeping their "defense weapons" (not assault!).

oh, no, are you NRA? hahahaha. They are getting their way. I just got a Moveon update that NRA is powering up to defeat Obama's bill! Good poem!
