~ SPEAKING RUSSIAN'S A PAIN ~

Shmendrick's a lazy student from Ukraine
He thinks that speaking Russian is a pain --
   He'll speak Ukrainian
   Even Romanian --
Russian grammar takes a disciplined brain

                   PTSD

They say that post-traumatic stress disorder
Is a condition that knows no borders --
You might get it in war
   Or wherever you are --
But a shrink only the rich can afford

PTSD can be attained in so many situations, it is amazing how little we understand this. Well done!

Oh, are you ever right. PTSD is certainly not limited to victims of war, rape, kidnaping and other obviously traumatic experiences. Thanks, Caren

Love the first limerick. My great-grandmother was Ukranian. My mom said she would do Pysanky (fancy egg dying) /So true the rich can afford their therapists. Life is not fair.

Ha, ha. I like the way you finessed this comment, Lindsay: These two limericks were more 'true' than 'funny,' I realize. Thanks, my friend. Cheers, Gershon

There once was a chauffeur, name of Sandy // Her poetry on the side, just dandy // She'd pick up her pen // Get lost in her Zen // Kept passengers at bay with some candy... Smiles, Gershon
