I clicked on this poem of yours Daniel as I'm a sucker for rhymes. Despite there being only the 2 lines (as per title) you didn't let me down. It's not easy to compose a short piece with such depth as you have achieved here. Congratulations. Cheers - Gary

Daniel, a most potent poem and use of words. It's too bad we haven't applied this universal guidance to our behavior as a society. At least many of us are aware of how lucky we are to be here at all. Hope you are well and keep these wonderful lessons and poems coming for our wellbeing. Smiles of course!! You really do this well!!!! I made this a favorite!!!

Hi Daniel, We all have to follow a path in life that gives one a future, hopefully we choose one that can make us happy and sometimes excel in, but is it not true that where ever life takes us we will always try our best. BLESSINGS Jennifer

This is a good one dear Daniel, competition is not healthy for no none. Shine your own light and do it in your own dark sky, if we learn to be lights to one another, no one needs to die alone ! deep and excellent message here, Good Luck in the contest

Dear daniel, your quote is deep and resonates with me! I had written once a poem about “ sun never competed with the moon” sometime ago and i thought of that as i read this deeply moving quote that not just flows so well but rhymes and also emanates so much in just few words! We are special in our own way! We all are stars! Absolutely loved it! Best wishes for the contest if it is for the contest! Sending you light always

Beautiful! As the stars, we also needn't compete to be placed in the ideal place to shine. Try to shed brilliance in whichever place one is put or whatever role one is assigned to. Sometimes we get uprooted to a totally alien soil. But bloom wherever one is planted. Proverbial words, dear Daniel. Sending love....

Daniel, so true...we actually add to each other's efforts. You've put accomplishment on a celestial scale, where we need not detract from anything positive no matter what the source. Smiles!!

Daniel, you're onto something important! I think I might classify some emotions as negative....but those are telling us that we are not happy with where we are. They're messages that call for some kind of action. I'm referring to jealousy, envy, etc. Your question--how we help others and ourselves--indicates that we agree on what we're aiming for regardless of how we characterize the emotion. I used to listen to Dr. David Viscott who had a lot to say about this. You're wonderful and I might change how I view this. Smiles!!

Hello Duke, Good to read your note this morning. There is a therapy modality that I use called ACT. In this modality I learned that there are no positive or negative emotions; there are emotions. Once we start judging our emotions and others emotions we start to put ourselves on a higher or lower scale that can have all kinds of consequences. The question is how do we live a life worth living and help our fellow humans to find a life worth living for them? We engage with love and care and help point the direction. Sorry, I guess I am getting into my philosophy / psychology world. LOL! Spring Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
