Two Haiku - Senryu Too

A House Full of Cats

a house full of cats?
we learn to step carefully
we don’t have nine lives
our kitties are so trusting
lay down right in front of us

“pet me and feed me!”
(this is a silent command)
“and keep litter boxes clean
don’t disturb us while we sleep
always be kind to us pets”

feline loyalty?
“at times we might say that – yes
but don’t count on it”

feline royalty?
“who owns who is the question?
you know the answer”

Daver, my friend, I love cats, but have 2 small poodles by default. Cats are more secretive and are more difficult to get close to. It's hard enough to come up with good cat stories. To adapt them to the poetic forms you chose takes the greatest of talent. Thanks for sharing.... Jake..... BTW... Thanks for the dudos on my poem...... Jake

My cats (all three) are long gone now. Don't see any in the future (fostering is a distant thought). I want to be mistress of my house.

Then don't let a cat in the door even for a minute. They are witcherly charming. daver

Maybe ancestors of the "feline royalty"; companions and guardians of the Pharaohs and their pyramids?:) I think they own you, Daver!! Best wishes to you and yours! Love, Mikki
