Two For the Price of One

I Can Still Play This Game
How can you guys just let me go?
I am one home run shy of the five-hundred plateau.
I know I am not younger than springtime anymore.
However, I can still play this game as I have before.

I can still be a strong partner in this dance.
All I need is a team giving me a chance.
My age has not diminished my ability.
Even though I may command a big salary,
I can still drive in those runs, just wait and see.

For a long while now, I have played this game.
After retirement, I may be in the Hall of Fame.
There is an admirable offense I can yield.
My legs are strong as I can still play the outfield.
Just contact my agent, and I will show you what I can do.
In this game of baseball, I am far from through.

Take a Chance With Us
Yes, we know your last team thought you were through.
However, we believe and still have faith in you.
You are among the best who have recently played the game.
To leave you at 499 home runs seems a shame.
You have had a career that has been nothing short of fabulous.
Come on over and hit number 500 with us.

As a team, we have come up short the last two years.
As a result, many of our fans have shed some tears.
You may be what we need to reach post-season play.
Why not come over here and sign a contract today?
