Two Dark Eyes

Two dark eyes are watching me, keeping me in sight; watching, ever watching me mornings and at night. Two dark eyes are following every move I make even with night swallowing light before I wake. Two dark eyes keep looking on, and I’m sure to see those two eyes when comes the dawn peeking in on me. Two dark eyes no matter where in my house I go. I don’t mind when those eyes stare, for they let me know. . . . Unconditional is the kind of love I see in the two dark eyes of a dog much loved by me! For the Big Brother - who's watching you and why? poetry contest of Black Eyed Susan

I love the change as you gradually make it clear who owns those dark eyes. Very well written Andrea.

When I saw the 'Two Dark Eyes', title I thought it was going to be a self portrait poem lol, I know only too well what you mean though, they is the best eyes. Thanks for dropping in on my addiction poem and the comment was greatly appreciated. Take care, Richard

Haha you really surprised me with that ending! And the whole time I thought someone was stocking you! My little dog follows me like a shadow as well (what's worst is that he's the blackest dog you will probably ever)... thanks for sharing this lovely poem. I love animal inspired pieces :)

Congratulations on your win! Seemed scarey until the end, and then it turned into a very sweet poem. Loved the way the poem twisted my mind.

Love this write Andrea! In the beginning it sounded almost scary. I have a pair of those eyes here...they're closed now, asleep by my chair. Good luck in the contest!!

Andrea, Carolyn and I wrote it as she taught me how to write limericks earlier in my Soup days...glad you liked it...I have written a few poems for her that were about personal situations of hers that we giggled about back-n-forth. Did u write anything for the Medievel contest yet? I chose a topic yesterday and will have something out by tomorrow. What about you?...
