I only hope the following eight lines express the depth of my disgust at what we Americans are in the process of doing to ourselves and our country. ~ gw

One is over-senile the other over-penile One opens our borders the other issues loyalty orders Our execrable Presidential candidates presage a once-great country’s fate Two utter buffoons America rushes to nominate ~ I think on my ballot I’ll regurgitate

340,000,000 Americans more or less and this is the best we can come up with? I share your disgust. John

Gershon, well written and stated. It is sad and perplexing what is happening! Hugs

A great poem on the state of our political landscape, Gershon. I do not believe our nation will survive another four years of either one of them.

I see you've had it. Any suggestions? I love my country. I'll still be here after it is destroyed, and the freeloaders have gone somewhere else. This is my home forever. I like how you pointed out our need for better unity.

elections are generally events where we get to pick from those that have been chosen.....

yes, we're sort of between a rock and a hard place. Yes, hard to stomach. Feels like DeJa'Vu, a repeat of 2020.

Dear Gershon, Your poem is a scathing, albeit humorous, critique of the political landscape. Though exaggerated, the stark contrast between the candidates exposes potential flaws in a way that makes us think. The ending line, "I think on my ballot I'll regurgitate," is a powerful image of frustration with the available choices. Your poem effectively sparks a conversation about the importance of informed voting and holding candidates accountable. A thought-provoking piece. - Blessings, Daniel
