Two Broken
Two broken lying at the foot of the Cross,
too broken to understand the loss.
Through the sea of tears of this blinding storm,
with hearts ripped open and in anguish torn,
we can never understand why to this, we were born.
While two together in brokenness they pray,
asking the Lord to carry them through this day,
with battered sails on raging seas;
in the turmoil of grief they long for peace.
Then one stands up taking hold of the Cross,
peace flowing in from understanding the cost,
knowing the healing that comes from our Savior's love,
knowing the peace that only comes from above.
There will be calm after the storm;
mending of the hearts, that now in despair lie torn.
But to the one that still lies frozen in unceasing grief,
bitterness seeps in towards the one who found relief
in the God who gives life, and also takes away.
Now another trial begins at the dawning of another day.
