Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
My eyes look up and there you are,
A sparkling diamond up so far—
Twinkle, twinkle little star.
But is this really what I see?
Are you truly there for me?
Or just a wave of light to be
Still beaming through eternity?
You may be gone, not really there,
Long since expired, white dwarf of air.
But still your glow with us you share,
At you, in wonderment, we stare.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star
A sparkling gem of hope you are—
That when we pass, our souls up far
Will twinkle, twinkle like a star,
Like a wave of light to be
Still beaming through eternity.
