Twilight Trees

autumn smiles in auburn memories
unsaid goodbyes of fallen leaves,
scars on bare stems, no one sees
It's time to go, summer end grieves.

unsaid goodbyes of fallen leaves,
last days of yellow in cornflour fields
It's time to go, summer end grieves
In yesterday's loss, tomorrow yields.

last days of yellow in cornflour fields
bronze unfurls in embrace of breeze
In yesterday's loss, tomorrow yields
wait for new leaves, in twilight trees.

bronze unfurls in embrace of breeze
scars on bare stems, no one sees
wait for new leaves, in twilight trees
autumn smiles in auburn memories.
