Twilight Dance

Slipping quietly through the forest,
I saw sparkles soar and twirl.
I rubbed my eyes in disbelief
Since stars don't sit that near to earth.
Silently, I crept still closer
Until tiny delicate forms appeared.
I stared wide eyed as they pranced,
Sprinkling dew and closing buds.
Strokes soft as angel's breath
Gentle artists of the twilight
I reached out to touch
Silver glimmering wings
And woke alone in my bed
The morning sun on my face
