Turning - Longing For Change -Psalm 51

Here is God's servent caught up in sins
lust, adultery, murder and deceit
David himself a man after God's own heart
but like the rest of us having clay made feet

David pleads for God to be merciful
to remove all his iniquity blowing his fuse
for he knows his failure and his sins
against a God of purity being without excuse

God calls for repentance that's real deep
David turning from sin was so very real
pleading for hyssop so he is purged
like in Egypt years before the blood did heal

David's confidence was in God alone
so from sin, he would hide his face
and David's iniquity he blotted out
as God can with us in his blessed grace

Real repentance needs to be continuance
not just at conversion but every single day
when we put off sin we must put on Christ
so to grow we must die without delay

Thanks Anne- Lise, Glad you loved it as indeed God's grace is always greater than our sin. Hope you're ok in Norway and surviving this heat, we're supposed to get the hottest day in history tomorrow in the UK but Scotland may be cooler. Blessings, Gordon
