Turn Away and Keep Away. ( Betrayal Contest.)

Turn away and keep away,
the ears that heard my soul.
Go away and stay away,
you maim a new born foal.

Go away and stay away,
cool embers of my heart,
Turn away and keep away,
Dull ashes drift apart.

Go away and stay away,
my insides twist until
Turn away and keep away,
shattered heart be still.

Turn away and keep away,
true ardor stumbles, shot,
Go away and stay away,
falls bleeding, left to clot.

Turn away and keep away,
appeasement with a smirk.
Go away and stay away,
deceivers' charm at work.

Go away and stay away,
emit one forlorn scream,
Turn away and keep away,
distrust has slit the seam.

Turn away and keep away,
I squeeze shut empty eyes.
Go away and stay away,
Betrayals' true voice-lies!

This is heartbreaking, Gerard. But if things as are you describe it is best to "Turn away and keep away." You deserve more happiness. I can tell from all your poems that you have a good heart, dear. I hope this is not autobiographical, but if it is, you have made the right decision not to trust the voice of lies. Love, Carolyn

Interesting write, Gerard. Betrayal can come in many forms, but they all come from lies. Throught provoking write. Thanks for sharing and thank you for your kind comments on my poem today. I am continuing to write under the theme of effect. I just wrote, "The Solar Effect" and "The Lunar Effect". Best wishes, Caroline.

I think this is far better than mine Gerald! Mine was much too long. This is a winner! It has to be! I guess my Soup Mail still doesn't work. Good luck in the contest! Thnx for your kind comments today!Any way you may remember commenting on "Blaze the Skies" when you said that you were even tempted to write the melody. Were you serious, Gerald? If so could you e-mail me or send me your e-mail. Mine is [email protected] or Peace, Audrey

You have taken betrayal and made it so real with your visual description of the pain and heartbreak accompaning betrayal. A truly remarkable work. Mac
