Truth Never Changes

I detest modern changes that come by force,
Like distorting truth to appease the whiners.
Name changing doesn’t fix past mistakes of course,
It only brings satisfaction to the hardliners.
We change names on buildings just to please,
And familiar street names have started to vanish.
Historical statues are torn down to appease,
Due to the hate of some, these things we banish.
We may not like the truth but truth doesn’t change,
No matter how distasteful and deplorable it’s been.
Daily we face those who will attempt to rearrange,
And when we give in we allow the whiners to win.
Some might think that my thoughts are unkind,
Brotherly love only comes through God’s peace.
Those wrongs in our past we cannot unwind,
“A wheel that squeaks the loudest gets the grease.”
“If there is anything we wish to change in the child,
We should first examine it and see whether it is not something
That could better be changed in ourselves.”
