Truth

TRUTH

don’t dare speak the truth
there will be subtle thunder
as your words hit home
areas thought innocent
were seeded now breaking forth

storm is upon you
as fits your life’s position
blasts both great or small
truth is a can opener
a can filled with subterfuge

Ignorance can be bliss, Daver? You'll know that I can't figure this out..hehe Perhaps someone laying low, trying to act innocent? It could be politically, family, or poetically motivated? Now you got me thinking! Dawson is a college in Montreal where creepy man went in and started shooting poeple. What miffed me afterward were the pics of him from a site, where he was cradling his gun. He shot himself at the end of this tirade. Love, Mikki

What a thought provoking piece. It's funny how people are threatened by the truth. Guess they like to live in their bubbles of excuses. Well written poem. Thank you for sharing it and for your kind comment. Karen

Ooooh, "a canfilled with subterfuge." Very compelling statement, my dear "Winter's Weed." You are by no means a weed of any sort. You are smart, funny and write like a young man! Sometimes when we tell the truth, people don't really want to hear it. Funny, isn't it? Love, Carolyn
