Trust the Rain To Come Again
The rain came with loud crashes blown
Houses exploded on impact into droplets
Into the night itself becoming madness
Becoming lightning without the flash
Leaving splinters to float downstream fractured
Unrecognizable fragments detached from reality
Trees used to stand for something before the rain came
Deep rooted before men came to chop them down
To become houses caught up in a flood one drop at a time
Then into wooden pieces shattered into nothing
What is this world coming to if you can't trust the rain
If you can't trust your friends to build things that remain
Perhaps the next generation of rain will be gentler
It does not have to be this way say the sages
Trust the rain to come again one day in peace
But carry an umbrella just the same
