True Caring
The art of giving without expectations
Of putting yourself forward without obligations
To hold forth with empathy and humanity
Without martyrdom or conceited vanity
To judge not those that are forlorn
With pretentious airs or snidest scorn
Or patronize with subtle condemnation
Or make light of another’s desperation
Encourage with compassion and open mind
And look for clues that may lie behind
The anguish or the reasons for the pain
Insightfulness that could easily explain
Listen always with your heart and soul
And never try to badger or control
Empower others with their own esteem
Allow them to vent and let off pent up steam
Always be the giver, not the taker
And never be the liar or the faker
Be humble and forever truly real
Sincerity and truth will surely heal
