Troubled Waters

Dejected beyond the scope of life,
Sat forlorn by herself in her room,
Rejected now but once loved wife,
 downcast eyes speak her gloom!

Blurry eyes still wet with memories,
Search for a meaning of her being,
Happiness filled her past diaries!
Head in hands she cries kneeling!

softness of touch, a hand on knee,
An innocent smile greets her gaze,
little hug from daughter aged three,
Shines a light out of her dark maze.

Life’s meaning, purpose, reason why,
Over troubled waters she should fly!

A tribute to Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘ Bridge over troubled waters!’

I don't know how I had missed reading this one. Such a beautiful story blended into a sonnet, full of reviving hope and love. I could relate to it so well. Congratulations on your win Krish! I wish to keep reading your words. :)
