Troubled Dreams
I close my eyes, drift into sleep
And through the darkness see
My mother and my father
As they return once more to me
Although passed on, they appear in dreams
When I’m beset by troubles or strife
Bringing through sleep, their counsel
To advise as they did in mortal life.
Their love and presence fill me
As they take me by the hand
Then together we go walking
Through a celestial, tranquil land
We sit by serene waters
And converse with silent words
Although I never hear them
Their advice is always heard
My dream ends and I awaken
Troubles eased, the answers clear
Re-assured by the strength of my parents
Who through dreams will always be here.
