Trouble On the Bridge

Twice I read a note my wife left for me
"Be home by four-thirty, love you" - she wrote
Twice I read a note my wife left for me
My wife said she loves me, she wrote a note

Yesterday was my one-hundredth birthday
Can I blow out the candles now; I think
There is one slice of cake left on the tray
Why are so many candles in my sink

I think I'll make some eggs sunny-side up
After, I read the left note from my wife
Why is there no coffee-cream in my cup
I will slice the cake with a butter knife

I think my dementia disease doubled
Just like a bridge over waters troubled

Charlie, this is heartbreaking as is the disease of dementia. To watch people we love slip away, helpless to do anything but comfort, is one the saddest experiences of life. Congratulations on your win. This truly is a winner. Blessings my friend.

Congrats, my friend, on this poignant write regarding dementia. Praying it doesn't come to my wife or me. Which is worse, to have it or to be married to it...

Some people including me have so much on their minds, they forget from one minute to the next what they had in mind to do, lets face it however, women can multi-function more than men! Sorry Gershon dont take this personally, you multi function with ease therefore you will never get Dementia! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.
