Trophy Wife
I and I
be a hard working man
Laying de bricks by day,
and collecting de cab fare by night
Gon save enough money, mon
buy me a beautiful trophy wife
Don't git me wrong now,
ain't talking 'bout no slavery
Trophy woman gon be free;
she gon wanna marry me,
'cause I make her life easy
Understand, see
Now let me tell you how this thang gon be
Trophy woman gon see me nice house,
big and comfy
And she gon have lotta time
to do whatever she wanna do
Long as she take care of me,
gem me my fav'rite dish: spicy jerk chicken and rice
I and I
make her life good being a trophy wife
You prob'ly think that ain't fair for her ...
I and I know, 'cause you American free
But down here on de island, there be lotta poverty;
and being a trophy wife will put her in better comp'ny
At lest she won't die from hunger and disease
Not bad tradeoff, not hard sacrifice ...
living de sweet island life,
being I and I beautiful trophy wife
