Cindy the tricolored cat 'pon my soft lap sat Just a gentle touch turns her purr on and sharp claws dig fast A ferocious distant barking heard as it comes near Cindy the tricolored cat sharp claws dig in scaring fear Cindy cools her furry body by lying down 'Pon damp leaves cool from the moist earth ears perked listens for sounds Constant, careful, considering every small move The hunter feels hunted but always ready to improve Sponsor: Suzanne Delaney Contest: The Synathroesmic Cat Contest' A form of polter's measure rhyming couples with 12/14 syllable count
