Tribute To Milton Hankins
A man of creative words,
A man who was deeper than what he wrote,
He gave his best in his art,
His leaning was on Christ,
His hope was anchored on Him.
A man who loved rare poetry forms,
It was a delight for me to participate in some,
Despite he never liked near or gerund rhymes,
He was apt to defend his choice,
And always emphasize his long list of rules,
Our days here are numbered,
We can't outwalk our stated paces,
We are on a transient sojourn,
You have walked through your midnight hours,
Now embraced by perpetual light.
