Tribute To a Friend

Liberty's tree is reeling drunk indeed upon the life of saints and patriots alike though I speak of a hit and run strike men are crushed in her wine press of need Why did she pluck such a good fellow? who fought our beasts of oppression who peddle sorrow, tears and depression as he bravely stood for a better tomorrow Dimgba, you were a bright beacon of hope you made friends early with bitter truth that made many stand before you mute as you gave the poor masses a reason to cope Yes we shall march to your grave side to lay to rest these fears that enslave us these pains that hold us down like a curse these we shall bury deeply side by side To mother earth your body shall rest at last your free spirit shall soar on a crescent star guiding men who will arise to leave a scar upon these political heavens held fiddly fast We shall not say goodbye but well done your enduring legacy will never be undone
