Notes About The Poem

Tree-Gazing

Mysterious are venerable trees. The ancient massive trees one sometimes sees deep in the woods exist in seeming ease through endless cycles - spring to winter’s freeze. In great tranquility stand such as these. What changes have they seen through centuries? What secrets have been whispered in each breeze? Pondering, I gaze at sylvan beauties.

Hello Andrea ... nice. It takes me back to a day when I was led to a Mountain Ash. I was gobsmacked at the size and my thoughts were similar to your poem - thanks Andrea - Lindsay

Very lovely musing with whimsical rhyming. When you can find just the right climbing tree, they are even more magical :) About the fireflies ... I thought they came out in June too, but I guess they came early ... but I'm not complaining ... they sure are a wonderful sight to see. Perhaps I'll write about them more in depth next time, rather than a vague illusion.

Do you know why trees are mysterious? They do have a chemical called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide for short is called NAD, because of this chemical we do exist. Something to think about.

So you like to look at trees. Better than watching the presidential race - which is driving me nuts! My mother loves politics I like it too but poetry provides a great relief - doesn't it? Good luck in the contest - I have entered one myself in Texas. I think there is a cash prize. But we poets don't care about money -right? Well I do play the lottery at times. I am still teaching ESL - are you? Peace & Love Matthew Anish

One of my favorite pastimes. The picture so reminds me of our huge backyard tree. Love every line. You are tree sensitive. Love, daver

Tremendous poem my friend! You still have the magical touch! I really enjoyed reading this awesome poem this morning! I thought I'd stop by this morning to see how everyone is doing! I graduated from college with my poetry degree, and I'm going for my masters in the same! It is quite difficult too, but I'm doing well! I'll stop by again sometime to see how ya'll are doing...
