Tree

She walks in the green fields in Wales
with a basket in her hands
She is picking jasmines flowers
and singing her favorite song as loud as she can

and under a big cherry tree
She sits down when she needs to rest
because when she tries to do too much
she feels the pain in her chest

She likes to be outside enjoying nature’s beauty
And the smell of the lush green grass
but she was born with a hole in her heart
and doctors told her to live everyday as if it was her last

and she is so beautiful and amazing
and childishly wild and free
sitting under the falling leaves
of her favorite cherry tree

The sun started to go down now
behind the moon, it goes to hide
It’s getting dark early this evening
So, she’s going back inside

She puts on a cotton nightdress
and fell asleep right away
she misses her long-distance boyfriend
who loves her but lives in the USA

And she had this beautiful dream
she dreamt that she was having a cup of tea
with him under the cool shadows
Of her favorite cherry tree

and she never woke up again
Heaven needed her back today
God only lent her to the world
Now he has taken her away

And all of the secrets, that she kept in her heart
She would write it in her diary
And every day after writing her feelings
She would bury it under her favorite tree

And she would send me many letters
Writing about a big cherry tree
And she wrote that “when I come to her
And if I can’t find her, this is where she will be

Although ours was a long-distance relationship
She was the love of my life
And we knew that one day
We would become husband and wife

So, when I couldn’t reach her and her letters stopped coming
In my heart, I knew that something was wrong,
So, I board a plane at JFK international airport
And was on a flight to wales, that was 24 hours long

Then I took a taxi to her home in Cardiff
Outside the flowers were in bloom
But inside her house
All I found was a picture of me in her bedroom

As I look out her window
On a hill there was her favorite tree
The place she writes about
And said that she would be

But she was nowhere to be found
I couldn't find my beautiful angel
Then I found her diary. She buried under the cherry tree
And I stared to read of the things she didn't get to tell me

Now I sit here alone
under her favorite cherry tree
and I am reading of the love she had for me
and all that she wrote about us in her diary

she was going to say yes to me
and she would have come to New York
When I came to meet her in wales
and ask her to marry me

and she carved a heart with our names
on her favorite cherry tree
and it reads “Kaz and S” in love forever.”
and in her diary, she writes, that when I come to her if I can’t find her
This is where she will always be

So, I will wait here for her
Under the cherry tree no matter how long it takes
Because when she makes a promise to me
She never let her promises breaks

And though her beautiful brown eyes have close
but she will always Shine her light on me
And I will never leave this place again
until she returns to me, under her favorite tree
