                                       Treading the Tightrope

	                            With a newly elected team
At the very head of the state,
With heaps of promises that seem
To strain its back and seal its fate,
With mounting loads of public debt
                                    Inherited from the near past
That to blow up presents a threat
And over the long term to last,
                                     With main indicators in red
It`s a real tightrope to tread.

It`s a tightrope that lies ahead
Between joy, the people to please
And fear in a debt trap to head,
Burden of the nation to ease
And on mountains of stress to glide,
Between zeal to the sky to rise
On the wings of popular tide
And fear to met future demise,
Between dishing out short term pains
                                   And expecting longer term gains.

It`s a tightrope on which to walk
With need to tighten the belt now,
                                        Suitable policies to stalk,
To high moral values to vow,
For one and all to roll their sleeves,
Dip their hands in crest of the soil,
A deep sigh of relief to heave
And uplift level of one`s toil
With aim to raise the nation`s cake
And like stars to brighten its fate.

It`s a tightrope on which to stroll
                                    With vigilance and fine balance
At the end to achieve set goals
With the golden rule of prudence
                                    Under an accomplished steward
                                     Bonded with a competent team
                                        Blazing the horizon onward
                                        To realise the sacred dream
                                            To usher in prosperity
In midst of peace and unity.
