Travelling Light
Whispers of a love lost
under the harvest moon-
I’m TRAVELLING LIGHT,
for my life was vanished.
Baggage too h e a v y with
belongings of blame,
chest full of memories-
stuffed with anguish and self-pity.
I’ve was caught in between
the light and darkness,
suffering in the shadows,
w i t h o u t a face,
a name spoken in a
different language.
There were days of yore
full of j a d e d cargo,
letting go seemed
so hard to do-
too hard to ignore.
When the torment arrived,
I saw with no eyes,
veiled by a shield of pain,
a disguise can’t reveal.
Fastly I l i n g e r e d,
yet oblivion made me
wonder slow-
Covered in lies, trapped in a
life...
-without meaning.
TRAVELLING LIGHT seems to
bring sincere alleviation,
I was stuck in the lost and found,
n o w a y o u t-
When I said I couldn’t make it,
I tried harder than before-
I could not ask for more joy;
h a p p i n e s s has prevailed.
I feel a loving sensation encompassed
in the depths of my soul-
Forgiveness has been granted,
b e s t o w e d by dignity.
I opened a new door of confidence,
a pathway to freedom.
I was blinded by the immense luggage,
wounded from lifting without strength-
So, I’ve been s l o w l y unpacking…
for I am TRAVELLING LIGHT.
