Traveling

Traveling on this unknown road Each mile past seems oh so slow No reference points to speed it up No common ground to smooth the rough Events unfold where I've never been Time shows teeth like a Cheshire cat grin Eventually I see, turns seem familiar The way ahead becomes much clearer Yes that sign post I've seen it before Time marches faster I recall much more The farther I travel, the more miles behind Changes, expands my perception of time. The day I finished That education chore 20 years past was before I'd been born Naturally,I couldn't comprehend that far shore Each day brings perspective to the measuring of time Two decades to me now seems to fly by Anxiously now I search the road ahead Days speed down hill faster and faster yet Understanding how momentum speeds up and gains I dread the road ahead as autumn is changed From the starting line of My warm Spring Home, To the finish line where Icy winter winds moan.

I enjoyed the read Crystal, nicely done. You look way too young to be thinking of speeding your way through all four seasons of life. John

Thank you so much John! Awe but are we ever too young to look to that inevitable, known destination? I am noticing how time goes by faster as I age and think it is due to the perspective we gain to understand time itself . 47 years is still young, I'll admit, and pray I'll consider myself young still after another decade. Thanks again for the feedback! Best, Crystol
