Trapped

I don't want to be
here.
This place tortures me.
My heart is heavy
and in so much pain.
How can I reach you?
You own my heart.
My dreams are no
longer pleasant.
How can I reach you?
As long as I'm not free
to love you. I live in
pain and agony.
As long you're there
and I'm here. I live
in torment. Tormented
by a love that's no longer
mines. For I'm trapped
in the memory of yester-
year.

This is a masterpiece, Alexis! True raw emotion like a laser beam, so focused ... the intensity burns into the reader's psyche. You leave a lasting impression of pathos w/this gemstone of a poem. An instant fave. Top notch 10! Love and peace to you, dear. Have a Merry Christmas and New Year.

Heartache, sometimes, becomes the most inspiring source, dear Alexis! Excellent writing and a seven!
