Transformation

Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend - Martin Luther King Jr. In your eyes I see you burn inside in the fire of anger, the tongue spitting out the dirt of the vitriolic mind, the sense of sanity turning into soaring ashes of rage, shrouded in smoke you lose the threads of reason. I don’t run away from you, seeking a safe seclusion, nor do I retaliate igniting another flame to sear, for fire can’t extinguish nor can it contain any fire. I embrace you with my soul, you can’t incinerate. I emanate from my heart the fervent fountain of love, drenching you with the cool shower of compassion. From the edge of mental wreck you emerge composed, rise from the debris of repentance, wisely transformed. October 18, 2020 Contest : Quotable Sponsor : Regina McIntosh
