Tragically Tantilizing -

Her reemergence into my relatively reclusive reality
was tantamount to the scary sensation a victor perceives shortly prior to victory,
the feeling that you could prevail if time would just evaporate suddenly,
extinguishing the crowding curve that an opponent may still win,

the situation wasn't that dire,
Nevertheless,
Embers became fire,
flames transformed into dangerous desire
and wishes remained whimsical,
we began by ignoring the unpreferable past like it was dissolved ice
that watered a now open and fertile steppe ready for horses liberty,

she spoke vaguely, happily, and with a young athlete's hubris,
I clarified things comprehensively, I was encouraging like lost songs heard within,
Aleksandra said that she was in love with life itself,
I mentioned that I was in love with survival,
seemed to me that there was a compatible appraisal,

one who loves life does so because life appears to them as a kind beauty
a perfect preachment that exists for their edification,
one who loves the survival of life perceives life as a pitiless perfection,
a brutal beauty endured with dignity for a fiercer freedom commitment,

we each received relic epiphanies from the echoes
of our elastic hopes & heartaches which suggested risk is a ransom of romance,
cute chance,
briskly, like a chill of the dusk,
we ended the endeavor of escapade,
the dictates of our friends, families foes and freedoms would not finance -

This is great stuff. You have a very similar mind to the way Mine works. I too wish I could remain this wild within thought but people don't understand the colorful language that you and I have. I had to change and develop some of my more "irrational" thoughts to appeal to the public who doesn't have access to brains like ours. Otherwise there are many good lines in this poem and you show more than promise. Keep ever changing, we can always get better. P.S. your vocabulary rocks.

Thank you very much Karl. I have worked diligently over 17 years of writing to assimilate, synthesize, and create a powerful vocabulary of concepts, emotions and spirit. You will compose better poetry when you stop writing for the public Karl. Always getting stronger my friend, alwsys, thank Deity! J.A.B.

Hope the pain didn't last too long, Justin. Compatibility is so important. She probably wasn't worthy enough of your love cuz if she were, I know you wouldn't let anything stand in your way. I wonder if you could give my poem Love Me Not a read. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Another great write from you..

I'm definitely not lacking in determination Eileen, and I'm as stubborn as a stone in a deep spot. She was a good girl, we just had different value systems. You're a sweet woman, and a special writer. J.A.B.

Interesting and beautiful piece-- very glad you posted. Love this line "the feeling that you could prevail if time would just evaporate suddenly" --all in all, a great one. Interesting how loving life and loving the survival of life can interconnect. I like how you differentiated the two but also made it almost so they are unified. Always,Laura

That relationship was maddening in more than one way Joe, fate put an end to it, with no ill will, just a silent goodbye. J.A.B.

Justin, intriguing, amusing poem. Not all grips are easy to explain, or evaluate. Hope it was fun, and not regrettable. Enjoyed.... always Linda :)

Well PD., our fun was expressed most in believing we were something different to eachother than what we really were. Goodwill, and a touch of magic and mystery prevailed within that long ago relationship. Great to hear from you my Sphinx. J.A.B.

Nicely written. Just one suggestion: in any writing, always spell out the conjunction A-N-D and never replace it with "&".

it's good to end things, before they get to hot. lololol who knows if opposite trully attracts. look at the bright side, a new song awaits the nature of us all. JAB, imperfection gets the best of us all. loving life should be the perfect gift of all. anyhow, I like the story. follow your heart and desire you never know kind beauty sounds interesting. Thanks for the Wuv Skat, lol. I wrote this piece many years ago, the style is a bit dry, but the psychology and metaphors are colorful with real import. I really appreciate your tenderness. J.A.B.
