Toxic State

Immobilized by trepidation
like a prisoner on the rack
An imagined consternation
From another anxiety attack
Constant state of dissipation
From perceived things I lack
A complete liquidation
Making a weary insomniac
Like a slow and steady ablation
Like a stoic, reserved maniac

Steady, powerful, drum-beating read, Trey! The hard "K" sounds ending every other line - oh YEAH.

I hadn't see your poem before the end of the contest. But it speaks to me. I sometimes feel like a prisoner of the issues you describe, so your poem, I can relate to it. Congratulations!
