Thanks, Sara. I agree, it's just hard to take at the time; and even harder to give at times. Big hugs, Bill

Priceless pic! Too many coward parents that spoil the baby birds, not releasing them from the nest. Let our baby birds learn to fly, and fly they will! Thanks, Bill! Enjoyed!

I wanted all of mine to have to beat life I was aware of, but they deserve and were created to make their own mistakes and learn their own path. As it turned out, I think they did a bit better than mom and dad. LOL Thanks for the comments on my poetry today, Kim. Have a pleasant evening. Bill

Hello Bill, Ahhh...the tenderness of a mother feeding her babies, followed by the abrupt push into independence… that’s nature at its fiercest and kindest all at once. You wrapped a whole coming-of-age story in three lines. I like your elegant nudge to trust the air beneath our wings. With awe and flighty feelings, Summer Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

But not alone they wallow on the ground until off on their own. I have seen an entire flock, even different species, protect a couple little ones when the cat comes threatening about. Quite a meditation. Great writing, Bill!

We watch out for our little ones each Spring. They're always nests in the trees around our home. Animals have a way of looking out for other animals that are vulnerable. Thanks for your mindful comments, Joe. Always good to see you've visited my poetry, my friend. Bill

Ahh!! How cute. Have you ever noticed if the baby bird comes back for the parents to care for it once they leave the nest? Sara K

Yes, they do that often in our trees. Most of the time it seems the parents aren't very interested in them once they can fly well. Thanks for the visits, my friend. Bill

This is a gorgeous depiction of mother's unconditional love to her children. Learning is the best and lasting gift a mother could give to her children. My pleasure to read from you again my dear poet friend, Bill. A superb senryu I've enjoyed a lot. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great new week! Hugs

Thank you, Yann. I agree with you. There is a time when children should become adults and start taking responsibility for their own lives. Thanks for the visit and comment, my friend. A poet friend in Texas, Bill
