Torment the Shadows

in my world
i have
a key

to unlock the depths
of which i may not
yet be accustomed
to unlock the sorrow
of which i may not wish
to renounce

will they ask me to
gather all
their bloody remorse
and ignominious alibis
so that i may
or may not
replace this
space
with something more
righteous and stable

or will i just
leave it there
to desperately
ask them
rhetorical questions
and wait for
blatant and heartfelt
honesty
