Top-Heavy Trudy

When top-heavy Trudy went drinking

She noticed the men were all blinking

     Her low neckline falling

     Dear Lord, it’s appalling

That Trudy’s own “three eyes” were winking

This is a fun poem and great win, Carolyn. Sounds like I used to look for Trudys when I went out with bosom buddies.

CArolyn. Your rhyme and your meter are SPOT ON. And also it's a very funny one. I think this is the best I've seen from you where limericks are concerned!

Thanks, Andrea. You know the Soup's "Forms" section says nothing about meter. I never check meter when I have a contest. This is an international site and people have different ways of speaking. Remember the "surreal" debate? Dictionary says it's three syllables and that's how I pronounce it. A high school teacher made fun of a metered poem I wrote. She "sang" it and it was embarrassing.

In college I used to make costumes for the theater department, but there was one occasion when I had to use a costume that someone else made. Then I went on stage and, raised my arms, the costume with Velcro seams broke apart. :D

Richard, when I was swimming in the community pool, I started a conversation with a fellow who seemed very nervous. It wasn't until he swam away that I realized I had a third eye winking. Won't be wearing that swimsuit again. It's just too big.
