Too Good To Be True
Deception, destruction, or death
may lurk behind offers of wealth,
of prominence, fancy black cars,
and life in luxurious homes.
Grand promises made to the young,
ambitious to rise to the top,
may prove far too sweet to resist.
Once in, getting out may mean death.
As John Grisham’s young lawyer learned,
if it seems too good to be true,
it probably is.
In Grisham’s The Firm, Mitch McDeere, fresh out of law school,
joins a small but prestigious law firm from which no one ever resigns.
Some ARE murdered, though! This firm is really run by the Morolto
crime family.
