Too Far Gone
Out of sight,
Gone beyond borders,
Out of reach,
Beyond the sea,
Somewhere away from us,
Somewhere out of view,
She had walked through the door before,
She had gone across the sea before,
But she came back,
With a smile,
She looked at us,
With tears,
We smiled in return,
She turned the corner,
It was only for a fleeting time,
She breathed her last,
The end of her journey,
The end of the road,
A gulf between us.
