Toni

I met you one day on a springtime morn,
I looked into your eyes I knew I was reborn,
Your smile was like the sun,
Your heart like the moon,
I was the one who fell in love with you.
You were my world,
You had my heart,
We were to be together,
You said forever and ever,
As I held you in my arms,
Tighter and tighter,
I could see it in your eyes,
I could feel it in your heart,
Your voice quivering and,
Last words lingered,
As I held my breath holding back my tears,
You said you would love me,
Forever and ever,
Then you were gone without
 a single breath,
In a dream you ask me,
Do you still love me,
I answer yes I do,
Every single day,
Every single year,
No one can take your place ever,
You have my heart forever and ever.

Your poem, Toni, was passionate and endearing. There was a smooth flow to poem making it easy to read. Love is eternal, I'm sure Toni knows that now. Thanks for sharing from the pain and joy in your heart, Shirley. Smiles and Blessing, Bill

Thank you Bill. This was the first poem I wrote thru the urgency of my Dr. He said I needed an outlet for my feelings and to help with my grief. When we lose our loved ones sometimes it's just too much to comprehend especially when your future is planned out. Poems help me to understand. Thanks for your kind words.
