Tomorrow

Upon my sunshine when yesterday rains
Dwelling in my present uninvited
Clueless of today's closing arguments,
The joy of tomorrow my new-dawn claims

No point whispering to lovelorn woes
When I can sweet-talk to portrait of love,
And paint my canvas in vibrant brush-strokes
Exactly as I wish to see you tomorrow

In the domain of yore, yesterdays rile,
Today's much better when I see your smile
But in your tomorrow is the mystical draw
Holding secret promise of heavenly awe

If the past takes back to a wintry storm
And all I recall is the shrouded form
I think of the way the seasons change
As the Spring of tomorrow shines your day

Yesterday's twilight warns dusk of today
Stars of the night don't come out every day
But hope is eternal and patience does pay
If I wait till tomorrow, I will have my say

When glorious daybreak smiles on my sky
Vanquishing doubts my dreams fly high
Not a hint of the known obstructs my view
As the allure of tomorrow I rejoice in you

In the domain of yore, yesterdays rile,
Today's much better when I see your smile
But in your tomorrow is the mystical draw
Holding secret promise of heavenly awe

Never allow yesterday to rule over our today and tomorrow. There is much to do today and much promise in tomorrow. Beautifully expressed in highly rhyming poetry and in arresting diction....dear Vijay

Today, is a gift. What a wonderful gift indeed, as these words caress the sky- again. In the new day (Tomorrow) they will still be soaring. Congratulations Vijay, on this win. :) Brandy

Oh, many congratulations, Vijay, for this shining poem. This will go to my favorites list. You write with such hope, allowing the promise of change to occur. I see this reflected in many of your works. Your view of lost love is reflecting tomorrow’s promises. Best wishes and again, congratulations. Deb

Quite a philosophical write, Vijay, and our "tomorrows" are often alluring. I especially enjoy the way you personify the times of day -- " twilight warns dusk" and "daybreak smiles." Being "clueless of today's closing arguments" made me smile, for it always seems to be that way. Wishing you success in the contest and a Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. Hugs, Carolyn
