Staring at the walls filled with the pictures of our lives,
Sitting alone in my chair.
Twenty years gone by without you there,
Sitting in your chair beside me.
It gets to be so lonely.
No one to talk to,
No one to listen.
The children rarely call.
No one who really understands me the way you did.
A life lived moment by moment, and day by day
As the tears of sorrow slowly fade away.
There are no fears, no regrets, no problems,
Only grief.
And the wait for sweet relief.
A time will come to be with you once again.
At a moment’s notice this life too will end.
Our souls will meet and join in life’s last breath,
Together in life, together in death.
