Today I'Ll Be Thankful

Today will be a good day.
I won't complain and moan,
About all that I do not have,
Count curses all alone.

Instead I'll count my blessings,
Thank Him for what is mine,
Appreciate what He has done,
To make my life sublime;

For others do not have the things,
That I just take for granted,
Good food, good clothes, a place to live,
It's really as I planned it.

Though everything is not the way,
I'd have it, truth to tell,
He's satisfied my every need,
Most Wants supplied as well.

I have all that I really need.
I really can't complain.
Though some have more, it's still just fine,
For we aren't all the same.

We each are blessed according to ,
What's best for you and me.
It's personal and custom made,
For personalities.

Today I will appreciate,
All He has done for me;
For home, and health, and happiness,
For my security.

Wonderful, timeless quotes, beautifully underscored by your poem, Judy... Here's a 'trailer' for you: 'He who's gained wisdom, what does he lack? He who lacks wisdom, what has he gained?' (It's better in Hebrew. Hard to translate precisely). :)

WoW! Judy, You picked some good scriptures to accompany your written poem. Making the choice to be thankful isn’t always easy when we dwell on what we don’t have. I enjoyed each stanza however the fifth one resonated with me the most. Thanks for sharing such a write;-) Alexis

we need to be grateful every day for what is ours, some we worked hard for it, but some was a given from the Lord above, Thanks for such an insightful poem stay blessed Judy :)

We certainly don't thank God enough for what we have and when you look around and see others with nothing, but in this world of immense greed I can't believe that people are starving and thirsty, yet billions are spent on arms that will probably never be used. Mankind has certainly got his priorities wrong. Enjoy your weekend Judy. Tom

How often do I think as you. I wake up with a pain here or there take two panados have a cup of Joe and all is good, but imagine the terminal, imagine a child dying, imagine your partner has a stroke or you have been told you have cancer. Thank you a million times dear God for who I am and what I'ce got I'm happy . Love and blessings Jennifer

Amen my friend I was told I had cancer and I decided No I did NOT have cancer The thyroid had cancer and they took that out and now I'm fine I never thought it was the end I was thankful that The Great Physician was doing my surgery and I would be fine My husband was not very supportive during that time and didn't bother to tell my kids about it so if not for Jesus I would have been alone His love and care saw me through it I thank Him for that and that I'm well and hearty now Thanks bunches for the lovely review God Bless JB
