Today I Live

Why is it so dark here?
What is this place?
I feel so uneasy
I don't want to be here
How did I get here?
Am I in the twilight zone?
Where is my family?
I don't see anyone
Or anything
Everything is black
Where is the light?
Am I blind?
When did I lose my sight?
Why am I here?
What have done wrong?
Is this the rest of my life?
Am I dead?
Or trapped in between life and death?
All I want is a another chance
To make better decisions
Next thing I know I saw light
My sight had returned
I was in my bed
Was it all a dream?
Or some random nightmare?
Whatever the case today I live

feeling that way for a length of time would sure make one feel so happy to be alive! Like when Scrooge awakens from his three visits with ghosts!! Good one, Alexis.

Welcome back, Alexis. That was must have been some scary night terrors. You expressed it vividly. I think one line should read, what have I done wrong. Love the happy ending though. Good poem, lady.

And that is good news for us as well. :)Very deep and definitely dark my friend, but so well expressed. You have a talent for bringing readers into whatever world you are describing. Really nicely done.
