Today
Today

Today is a curtain,
concealing yesterday’s doings.
These memories are subject,
to selective re-viewings.
They’re held in a lock box,
that only we can envision.
A review only file,
not subject to revision.
Many things we’d change,
if it lay in our power.
Early life things,
now provoking us to glower.
But time, once expired,
never returns again.
I’m immersed in thought,
that it was better back then.
